Green Schools' Programme
In 2004 we were awarded our first Green Flag in recognition of our effort to "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle" and since then Our Lady's has had  very active Green Schools' Committees working hard to keep us aware of environmental issues. We celebrate Climate Action Week, Walk to School Week and much more! In March 2018 we achieved our seventh Green Flag! Very well done to all involved and long may the hard work continue!

Active School Flag Programme
Active School Flag (ASF) is a Department of Education and Skills initiative supported by Healthy IrelandIt is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school. In early 2018, we embarked on the ASF Programme and were very proud to be awarded our flag in May 2020. In terms of levels of physical activity, our school has been transformed through this process. 736 out of 3300 primary schools in Ireland have been awarded this flag and we are very proud to be one of them.

Gaelic Games
Games Promotion Officers from St. John's G.A.A. Club in Ballinteer provide blocks of  Gaelic Football and Camogie lessons during school hours, where possible.

The Parents Association organise swimming lessons every Friday for children from all classes.

Tag-Rugby
Rugby Development Officers from Leinster Rugby deliver blocks of tag-rugby lessons to all classes each year along with providing opportunities for the children to participate in tag-rugby blitzes with other schools.

School Choir
Our school choir sings at special school masses and celebrations such as First Confession, First Communion, Confirmation, Service of Light and masses for the opening and closing of the school year.

Junior Achievement
Classes from Senior Infants up to Sixth are involved in Junior Achievement. This programme teaches our pupils about enterprise, the importance of education and the skills they need to succeed in a changing world. It allows our pupils to gain a deeper understanding of teamwork, decision making, creativity and communication skills. A business volunteer visits a class once a week for six weeks. Each lesson is very hands-on and activity based.

Junior Entrepreneur Programme
Sixth Class takes part in The Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP). This is a 10 - 16 week entrepreneurial education programme for primary school pupils. The programme helps participating pupils to develop a number of skills including literacy, writing, presentation, drawing, technology, research skills, numeracy, financial, consumer awareness, storytelling, listening skills, creative thinking, problem solving, team building and collaboration skills. The programme has a significant personal development impact on participating pupils, building confidence, self-awareness and self-esteem, and an appreciation of individual skills and talents.

Cycling Safety
'Cycling Safety' delivers a ten week cycling safety training programme to a designated class in our school each year. They provide the children with the skills and knowledge required to be better, safer cyclists. We endeavour to ensure that each child avails of this opportunity during her time in our school.
